The former U-17 Champion with Mexico was severily criticized for this unsportsmanlike conduct, since his actions helped Chivas to win the game.

After this weekend's games in the Clausura 2015 tournament, Liga MX officers determined to sanction Mexican striker Carlos Fierro for diving in his team's match against Pachuca. With his action, Chivas were granted a penalty kick that ended up giving El Rebaño their second win this season playing at Estadio Jalisco, providing the red and white outfit some room to breathe in the relegation battle.

The historic Mexican club faces relegation for the first time in its 109-year history, and every game is being scrutinized for suspicions regarding possible match-fixing to benefit Guadalajara.

Liga MX officers revealed the player's punishment through a press release.

"Carlos Fierro will be suspended for one game for misleading the referees, benefiting his team with such an action in the outcome of Saturday's game against Pachuca," the press release states.
