Real Madrid made history last week by defeating Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena for the first ever time in the history of the two clubs. On Tuesday night, Los Blancos will play Standard Liege in another club friendly.

Iker Casillas was undeniably the man of the match in Germany with miraculous saves whereas Real Madrid’s defense was arguably laughable.

Meanwhile, the team was also wasteful on the offensive as the match could only be decided on penalties after 90 minutes of football.

It looks like Real Madrid’s preseason matches explain that Jose Mourinho has quite a lot of job to do concerning his side’s defensive abilities. However, the Portuguese has other opinions regarding Real Madrid’s defense besides the fact that he sees a lot of positivity concerning the players’ attitude. Jose Mourinho explained on Monday in an interview:

“We are still not a team tactically speaking. However, our attitude cannot be any better. That’s where we are a team.”

“Our defense is great and we do not find ourselves in a situation that is worrying us.”

Earlier in the day, it was announced that the Spanish giants were greeted by around 1000 supporters when they arrived in Liege, Belgium. After a two-hour flight, the team went to the Ramada Plaza Hotel as they spend a bit of time relaxing before meeting Standard Liege at the Stade de Sclessin before a sold-out crowd.
