The young footballer was laid to rest in his native Belgium, with several notable players in attendance.

Less than two weeks ago, the football world was shocked with the sudden and tragic death of a young rising talent in the game.

Junior Malanda, who was born Bernard Malanda-Adje on August 28, 1994, was killed on January 10th of this year when the car he was traveling in lost control and veered off the road, crashing into a tree in which he died instantly.

Numerous players paid tribute to the young Wolfsburg defensive midfielder on social media, and his funeral was attended by over a thousand people who wanted to say their final good-byes to the promising Belgian international. Prior to his untimely passing, Malanda had played for all of Belgium's youth sides starting from the under-15 to the under-21 squad.

Players like Nicklas Bendtner, Kevin De Bruyne, Ivan Perisic and Ivica Olic were among the faces at his funeral earlier today, with many still in shock following his passing only 10 days prior.
