The next round of AFCON 2015 matches pits Burkina Faso against the tournament’s hosts and Congo against high-flying Gabon. It will be another exciting day in African football.

Burkina Faso vs. Eq. Guinea

Burkina Faso’s 3-0 win over Angola during their qualification campaign was simply magical. It was a result that without a doubt gives the team a lot of confidence going into this year’s tournament. If they can emulate their performance on the day in their match against Equatorial Guinea, there is all the chance that they could emerge victorious. As such, the form of forward Jonathan Pitroipa will be an important factor for The Stallions.

Equatorial Guinea on the other hand will look to prove that they merit their inclusion in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Having been disqualified by the CAF during the qualifiers for fielding an ineligible player, the central African nation will go out of their way to show that being the hosts is not the only reason they deserve to be participating.

Congo vs Gabon

Having registered a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the tournament’s hosts, Congo will look to maintain the same defensive stability against the likes of Gabon’s Aubameyang while trying to get on the score sheet themselves. It will not be easy, but positives and inspiration can be derived from the draw they registered in their opening game.

Gabon, on the other hand, could not have started their AFCON 2015 in better fashion. Their fleet-footed forward Aubameyang is firing on all cylinders and can certainly be relied upon to steer his team past the Congolese. Aubameyang, who wore the captain’s armband on the day, fired in the opener, giving his team the breathing space needed to beat Burkina Faso on Day 1 in Equatorial Guinea.

Congo's Starting XI: Mafoumbi, Baudry, Bissiki, Babele, Moubhibo, Bouka Mou', Gandze, N'Dinga, Oniangue, Dore, Bifouma.

Gabon's Starting XI: Ovono Ebang, Poko, Appindangoye, Ecuele Manga, Lloyd Palun, Serge Obiang, Madinda, Bulot, Evouna, Ndong, Aubameyang
