Los Blancos established the biggest difference ever between the leader and the second place of the ranking, in this case, German champions Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid were named the Best Team of 2014 by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) after winning the UEFA Champions League and the Copa del Rey last season. Furthermore, Los Blancos established a record for a Spanish team of most consecutive wins including every tournament.

The IFFHS revealed Real Madrid earned 381 points to lead their ranking, being this the highest total for any club. Added to that, Carlo Ancelotti's men had the biggest difference ever with the second place, in this case, Bayern Munich, who earned the runner up place with 276 points. Atletico Madrid were ranked third with 267 points, followed by Barcelona with 251, despite not winning any major tournaments last season.

Colombian side Atletico Nacional ended up fifth, being the best ranked Latin American club last year. Italian champions Juventus, Arsenal, Napoli, River Plate and Salzburg completed the top ten clubs named by the Institution.
