Despite their struggles in the Bundesliga, Watzke has again stressed that Dortmund are fully behind Klopp.

In an age in football where one loss, one huge defeat can cost a manager his job, it is a rarity to see a team show full support for their coach during the tough times, especially when it comes to Europe’s elite.

As exhibited by north London club Arsenal sticking behind Arsene Wenger despite the Frenchman coming under huge pressure for his inability to win accolades, Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have reiterated their support for manager Jurgen Klopp.

This however remains an unfair comparison as the German heavyweights have not only been struggling all season, losing 10 out of their first 17 matches of this season, but reside in the relegation zone, currently in 17th spot.

In danger of dropping to the second division, Dortmund and their manager have a lot cut out for them to turn around the club’s fortunes in the second half of the 2014-15 Bundesliga edition. Nonetheless, CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed Klopp’s position at the Signal Iduna Park is not even under threat.

“We will never sack Jurgen Klopp,” Watzke confessed to SportBild magazine. “He has a lot of merits at the club. It will never come to a confrontational situation with him.”

These comments by Watzke comes after the BVB CEO, back in December, hit back at those calling for the manager to be sacked in a crisis meeting with sporting director Michael Zorc, stating:

“There are zero doubts. We are totally convinced of him. A few weeks ago he was praised into the skies, and the very same people now say that his time is over. I think that's just embarrassing.”

Klopp, who has been at the helms of the club since 2008, has won the league twice with die Schwarzgelben in consecutive seasons back in 2011 and 2012, and even led the club to the Champions League final in 2013, though losing out to rivals Bayern Munich in Wembley.
