According to the Spanish Anti-corruption authorities, every player and coach indicted knew all about the agreement that allowed Zaragoza to remain playing in La Liga.

After months of gathering evidence to support their case, the Spanish Anti-corruption office formally accused 42 people of fixing the Zaragoza-Levante match in 2011, which was won by Los Maños. Real Zaragoza needed to win the game to keep y their spot in La Liga, and according to the report revealed by the Spanish entity, the club paid almost a million euros to their opponent to lose that match.

The report states that every player involved in this match was aware of the agreement, whether they played or not. According to the document, the club's president Agapito Iglesias transferred 965,000 from his bank account to the accounts of nine players, the team's sports VP,  and their coach, Mexican Javier Aguirre. Everyone of those who received money would then withdraw the amount from their bank accounts, so that they would deliver the cash to Levante's players.

Among those who were summoned by the Spanish agency are goalkeeper Toni Doblas, defender Paulo Da Silva, Manchester United's Ander Herrera, Atletico Madrid's captain Gabi, right back Carlos Diogo and Angel Lafita, currently playing for Getafe. Levante's players currently being investigated include goalkeeper Gustavo Munua, Cristian Stuani, Swansea City's Jefferson Montero and Felipe Caicedo.

If the investigation and trial conclude there was an agreement to fix the match, then those implicated could be banned from football for up to six years. This sanction would be applied to every player or coach implicated, regardless of their current whereabouts.
