La Liga's and the UCL's top scorer will be featured in a biopic on his early years before becoming a football icon.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi certainly is a unique talent in the world of football, to say the least.

At just 27 years old, the Argentinian ace has already become La Liga's all-time top scorer...and did so in the same week that he also broke Raul's record for the most goals scored thus far in the Champions League.

The amount of records "La Pulga" has smashed so far in his 10 year professional career for club and country is simply astounding, including racking up four consecutive Ballon d'Or titles between 2009 and 2013. And with the diminutive attacker being nominated for yet another prize this January, he is in contention to claim a fifth trophy should he fend off competition from fellow Liga star Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer.

Although many footballers have books written about them, whether autobiographies or biographies, not many can claim to have a film that attempts to narrate their life story. Some Blaugrana fans, though, will have the opportunity to see Messi arrive on the big screens next month, depending on where they live.

The movie, simply titled "Messi", will hit theaters on January 1st, for those who live in Spain

While some critics were not impressed with the flick which was screened at the Venice Film Festival and first had its world premier in Brazil this past July, others felt that it did a fair job, considering that the producers were not allowed access to the star nor his family while preparing the film.

What will Barcelona fans think of the upcoming film on the iconic star?
