Yet another nightmare for Marco Reus, who just came back from a long-term injury lay-off.

UPDATE: Borussia Dortmund have now released an official statement confirming that Reus will be out until 2015.

Regardless of whether one is a Bundesliga follower, or a Borussia Dortmund fan, one cannot help but feel sorry for Marco Reus.

The 25-year-old, who has quickly grown into a fan favorite for his brilliant displays with die Schwarzgelben, has endured a torrid time dating back to the spring, when he was unfortunate to miss out on the World Cup after suffering a nasty ankle injury.

As we all know, Germany went on to win the much-coveted prize and die Mannschaft supporters certainly must be wondering what could have been had Reus been able to feature. Yet, now, after successfully battling back from a long spell on the sidelines, he now has suffered yet another setback that will be worrying for not just Dortmund and the player, but also Premier League fans as well.

Reus has spent most of this season also recuperating and has only just started getting back to form, scoring an impressive six goals and providing three assists in all competitions. However, yesterday, he now will face some time again on the treatment table after suffering an awful tackle from, ironically, an ex-Dortmund player, Marvin Bakalorz. Suffice it to say, he certainly will not be a popular figure amongst the Dortmund faithful.

Horrific: Bakalorz's reckless tackle that caused Reus to suffer another gut-wrenching injury

Even more perturbing is the seriousness of his injury this time around. Dortmund have confirmed that he was taken to hospital after rupturing ligaments in his ankle--eerily similar to what kept him from featuring in Brazil.
