The Real Madrid star is fighting back against claims he made some nasty comments about rival Lionel Messi.

Given their star capability it is not surprising that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are rivals and will continue to be until one of them retires.

Fans of the duo are often fighting incessantly about who is better, with neither side willing to compromise. However, generally it has been reported that despite the animosity that exists among some of their supporters, both the Portuguese and Argentinian superstars have a cordial respect for each other.

At least on the surface. According to the Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, the Real Madrid ace has some not-so kind words for his rival in private, including a pretty vulgar term and, less offensively perhaps, references to the talismanic Barcelona attacker as his "dog or puppet".

Well, CR7 isn't amused and has recently hit back via his Facebook page:

 

 

Fans of the two-time Ballon d'Or winner will surely be eagerly awaiting any new developments regarding this controversy.
