The German midfielder has not played since the World Cup Final in Brazil after coming down with an injury to his left knee.

German champion Bayern Munich revealed that midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger completed his first training session after four months. "Schwenie" came down with an injury after this summer's World Cup, and has not played any official matches this season.

According to Bayern's website, Schweinsteiger practiced today with other former international players such as Franck Ribery, Philip Lahm and Xabi Alonso. The midfielder even participated in today's match, scoring a goal. After the game, the German champion worked out with the team's physician, Holger Broich. It has not been revealed when Schweinsteiger will be fit to play his first match of the season with Bayern, but his comeback means good news for a team that has struggled with injuries to some key players such as Javi Martinez and David Alaba.

The German midfielder has not been able to play a single match since July 13, when he played 120 minutes for Germany during the World Cup final against Argentina.
