A beautiful goal, it was a shame the Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder netted against his own team

Rarely is it ever a club's own player who is at cause of their demise in a defeat, but Christoph Kramer should be cut some slack.

Maybe his concussion at the 2014 World Cup final has taken it's toll.

The 23-year-old die Mannschaft midfielder has been in fine form for his Bundesliga side all season, garnering rave reviews as Borussia Mönchengladbach sit in third place in the table, seven points off of leaders and defending champions Bayern Munich.

Catching the eye of Real Madrid, Tottenham, and even Arsenal after a string of commanding displays for Lucien Favre's crew, Kramer showed a moment of madness in Borussia Mönchengladbach's away clash with German giants Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.

During the 58th minute of the second-half, after receiving the ball near the mid-way point, Christoph Kramer decided on passing the ball to goalkeeper Yann Sommer. A miscalculated move, Kramer released a shot more powerful than expected, as the ball flew above the Mönchengladbach custodian and into the back of the net, scoring a 50-yard own goal.

That blunder from the World Cup champions proved to be the difference as Jurgen Klopp's men grabbed all three points at the Signal Iduna Park, much to Dortmund's relief, and now move into 15th place in the standings.
