The Austrian left back came down with an injury in Bayern Munich's UCL game against Roma on Wednesday.

Bayern Munich will have to make room in their medical unit for one more player, since David Alaba came down with an injury on Wednesday during their UEFA Champions League match against Roma. The Austrian's injury will represent a serious blow for Pep Guardiola, who had Alaba as one of his key defensive men.

After more ellaborate medical checks performed on the player, Bayern Munich's doctors revealed the player will be out for at least two months. Nevertheless, coach Pep Guardiola remains hopeful Alaba can come back earlier than expected.

“We will be missing a super type of player, who plays outstanding football, I hope he will be back after Christmas because he is extremely important for us because of his flexibility,”Guardiola said earlier.

Alaba's injury piles up to Bayern's "missing in action" list. Midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thiago Alcantara and Javi Martinez have been out of commission for almost the entire season so far, and with his injury, Alaba will surely force Guardiola to start Phillip Lahm once again at left-back.
