The refs want Justino Compean, FEMEXFUT's President, to comply their demands by the end of the day.If he refuses, Mexican Liga MX would be suspended

Mexican league fans may not be able to see their favorite teams on the pitch, since Liga MX's referees are about to go on strike, urging the Mexican Football Federation (FEMEXFUT) to take immediate action.

Sources indicate that Mexican referees want their President, Rafael Mancilla, to resign from his job, since they feel he abuses his power to give them matches to judge. Furthermore, they accuse the Liga MX and Ascenso MX instructors of asking assigned refs for a fee, and if they refuse to give money, then they will not be programmed later in the tournament. The law enforcers also want better salaries and an improvement in their working conditions, since they claim that if they get injured, the Mexican Federation does not support their medical expenses, among other demands.

Justino Compean, FEMEXFUT's President, programmed a meeting with some referees and Edgardo Codesal, the 1990 World Cup ref who gave Germany a penalty kick in the final minutes of the match, who will attend the meeting as a mediator. The conference must benefit the referees immediately, since Week 16 of the Apertura 2014 tournament starts tomorrow. If an agreement is not reached by the end of the day, the refs will go on strike.
