The Portuguese player praised his teammates for their support to win this award, stating he would not be surprised if he didn't win FIFA's Ballon D'Or

Cristiano Ronaldo received today his Golden Boot Award, recognizing him alongside Luis Suarez as the most prolific strikers last year. The Portuguese superstar was truly excited to receive the award, the third of its kind in his career.

"You only win this trophy with a very good squad around you and with everyone's support. Last year things went very well and we won the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. It was an extraordinary year and I feel very lucky to be in this squad and at Real Madrid," Ronaldo stated.

Despite being deemed as the favorite to win this year's Ballon D'Or one more time, Real Madrid's number 7 would not find it strange if he didn't end up receiving FIFA's award.

“I wouldn't be surprised not to win it. Nothing surprises me in football and you have to be ready for everything. I feel good and I'm very happy, on a collective and an individual level. I would obviously like to win it, but I'm not obsessed by it. I'm doing well, helping my team to win games and getting goals,"the Portuguese added.

The player from Madeira, Portugal, tried to put an end to all the rumors that point to his return to an English Premier League side, stating his goal is to end his career with Los Blancos.

“We have to talk with Florentino Pérez. I'm very happy and in a great moment of form. Personally and in sporting terms, everything is going well. I want to win and get as many trophies as possible with this club. My plan is to finish my contract with Real Madrid at 33 and after that we'll see if they want me to stay. I feel young and still a long way off retiring,"the player added.
