Chelsea fans can now let out a huge sigh of relief as their star striker Diego Costa nears a return from injury.

The former Atletico Madrid man, signed by the Blues during the summer after a hugely successful, La Liga-winning campaign with the Rojiblancos, picked up a hamstring injury with Spain whilst on international injury, back in mid October.

A hit since his Stamford Bridge arrival, leading the English Premier League goal charts with 9 strikes, the 26-year-old attacker last appearance for Chelsea came in their 2-0 win over London rivals Arsenal.

However, with the table-toppers gearing up for a west London derby with newly-promoted side Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, Jose Mourinho revealed that Diego Costa will be available for selection for the Stamford Bridge clash, along with Brazilian midfielder Ramires. 

“Without any further complications, Diego Costa and Ramires will be fit to face QPR at the weekend,” Mourinho said.

The injury boost kept on coming as Mourinho revealed that Brazilian midfielder Ramires will also be available for selection for the Stamford Bridge encounter

The Portuguese boss announced this after Chelsea beat League Two opponents Shrewsbury on Tuesday in a fourth round Capital One Cup tie, winning 2-1 at Greenhous Meadow.
