Ramon Morales had only one game with Guadalajara, but criticized Angel Reyna's performance in yesterday's Clasico against Atlas

Chivas Guadalajara seem to have a lot of problems, both on and off the pitch. One of the issues their interim coach noticed was the lack of effort displayed by some of their star players, such as Angel Reyna, one of their transfers for this tournament.

Ramon Morales, one of the club's most beloved players, coached Chivas yesterday after taking the spot left by Carlos Bustos. With Guadalajara losing 1-0 after 45 minutes, Morales left Reyna on the bench, giving way to rookie Angel Zaldívar. After the game, Morales explained why Reyna did not participate in the second half of the match:

"Angel's got great skills. He's got a lot of talent, but if you have what it takes to turn things around and you don't put some effort into it, then you don't count for me. Right now the team is not doing so well, and you have to back your talent with a little effort, and I did not see that in Angel today. He has to set an example for the younger ones, and you cannot negotiate that kind of things. That's why I let someone else in," Morales told the press.

Ramon Morales also explained how difficult it was for him to coach a team in such shape, since they have earned just one point out of the last twelve, with the relegation problem over their heads:

"We have to take advantage of our chances. Basically, the team had the ball, we had the options, but we were not able to score, and if you don't do that, it's very difficult to to turn things around," Morales added.

Tomorrow, Guadalajara may unveil their new coach, possibly former Mexican boss Jose Manuel de la Torre, who gave Chivas their last championship back in 2006.
