Spain started their qualification round to Euro 2016 with a win against Macedonia. After giving away their title as World Champions back in Brazil, La Roja expected a better performance from some of their top players against a very poor opponent.
Spain started scoring with a penalty kick taken by Sergio Ramos. The Real Madrid defender scored by kicking the ball "Panenka-style". After that, Paco Alcacer made his debut with La Roja as a starter with his first goal. Just eleven minutes later, Agim Ibraimi netted a penalty kick into Iker Casillas' net, giving hope to the Macedonians to pull up a show stopping score. Just before the first half ended, Sergio Busquets scored once more to send Spain 3-1 into halftime.
During the second half of the match, Spain extended their lead with strikes by David Silva and Pedro Rodriguez, to shape the final 5-1 score. Perhaps the highlight of the match was the debut of Munir El Haddadi, called up after Diego Costa came down with a thigh injury.
Maybe the opponent did not make Spain sweat, but they sure managed to get some reactions via Twitter. Have a look at some of them:
You know with Sergio Ramos that it will either be sublime or it will be ridiculous. That penalty was sublime.

"Even Macedonia manages to score against Iker Casillas. They don't respect the man!"
Ya hasta Macedonia le mete goles a Iker Casillas, ya no hay respeto.

121 - Cesc Fàbregas has completed 121 passes vs Macedonia, his best tally in an international game for Spain. Smart. pic.twitter.com/5EmmnLXOeo
