The US youngster will play for Bundesliga side Hamburg next season looking to get more playing time.

The news was confirmed by Hamburg SV on Monday via its official website while Julian Green was training with the USMNT in Prague ahead of their friendly match against Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Julian Green joined Bayern Munich in 2013 but he made only one appearance with the Bundesliga side during his first season; playing three minutes in a Champions League match against CSKA Moscow.

The move to Hamburg seems to benefit the youngster, as he is likely to get more minutes with his new club than what he was getting in Bayern. Apparently, a buy-out clause wasn’t included in the deal so Green will have to return to Bayern once the season is over as he has a contract with the Munich side until 2017.

On his move to Hamburg, Green commented:

"It's nice that everything is finished right now. I'm very happy to make this step to go on loan to Hamburg. Hamburg is a big city and a big club. I'm really looking forward to it."

The 19-year-old was part of the USA team that played this year’s World Cup in Brazil; reaching the Round of 16 and getting knocked out dramatically by Belgium in extra time. Green scored a goal in the 107th minute of that match just after a few minutes of coming on as a substitute.

Via Facebook, Green posted the following statement:

"I will spend 2014/15 season with HSV! It was kind of short notice, but it is a great possibility and I decided to take this chance. HSV is a great club with a long tradition. For me it is a chance to assert myself on a top level, gain experience and hopefully score many goals. I am looking forward to this year in Hamburg and hope to get much time on the pitch. I am curious about the city and the team. The club had a hard season last year. And 2014/15 will be a challenge as well. But I am glad to accept this challenge together with my new teammates and will give my best from the very first!"
