Real Madrid's striker beat Dutch Arjen Robben and German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer

After the UEFA Champions League draw, UEFA named Cristiano Ronaldo as the Best Player for the 2013-2014 season. The Portuguese player won FIFA's Ballon D'Or beating Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery. This time, fellow teammates Arjen Robben and German goalie Manuel Neuer were runners up to the prize.

Ronaldo established a record for most goals in a single UEFA Champions League season, leading Los Blancos to their 10th title. Domestically, CR7 obtained the Copa del Rey, beating Barcelona with an overtime goal by Gareth Bale.

One of CR7's driving force has to be the rivalry with Lionel Messi. Ronaldo explains how he feels about Messi in a recent interview:

"This rivalry is part of my life. It is only normal that people compare us. The same happens in Formula 1 with Ferrari and Mercedes. I'm used to it. This has been the case not only since I joined Madrid, but already when I was still at Manchester United."
