According to sources, Alonso would have requested Florentino Perez to authorize the transfer, the same way he did while playing for Liverpool years ago.

Awaiting confirmation, Spanish sources established today a connection between Xabi Alonso and Bayern coach Pep Guardiola, which would end in a transfer to Munich. Alonso, who announced via Twitter his retirement from the Spanish National Team, would be joining the German champion for 10 million euros.

According to their coach, it appeared Bayern Munich had closed the transfer book for this summer after signing defender Mehdi Benatia. Weeks ago, Guardiola recognized his team was short on men, after Javi Martinez's injury, which will keep him off the pitch for a long time, and several injuries to Bastian Schweinsteiger, among others.

But, what do Real Madrid fans think about this? Twitter erupted with the news! Scroll down to read some of them.
