Chelsea begin the 2014/15 Premier League season taking the three points from Burnley.

It took only one match for Brazilian-born Spaniard Diego Costa to net in his first goal for ‘The Blues’ in the Premier League.

An early goal from Burnley in the 14th minute surprised Chelsea but the talent of Mourinho’s squad was enough to get an immediate equalizer with Costa firing in the ball from the six-yard box after a rebound. Three minutes later Andre Schurrle finished a fantastic one-touch team play. Branislav Ivanovic scored the third goal with a close-range volley. After that, Chelsea controlled the match and they secured their first win of the season at Turf Moor.

Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, started the match and played the whole 90 minutes but Mourinho denied that he would be his first choice for the rest of the season, making sure that none of his players feel they have a secured place in the starting line up.

"No, Thibaut Courtois isn't my first choice for the rest of the season. He was my first choice today. The rest of the season? Who knows?”, the Portuguese said

Didier Drogba made his official return as he came on as a substitute and played the 7 last minutes of the match.
