Los Blancos look to cash in on their 26-year-old ace Angel Di Maria in a record sale for Real Madrid

Real Madrid star Angel Di Maria is inches away from sealing a Paris Saint-Germain switch for a record fee for Los Blancos, MARCA understands.

The Argentine ace, who was also linked with a Santiago Bernabeu exit due to last summer's arrival of Welsh superstar Gareth Bale, could find playing time hard to come by this season.

Real Madrid secured the signing of Colombian ace James Rodriguez, the 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner, for a €80m fee, alongside Les Merengues' acquisition of German midfielder Toni Kroos.

And although impressing last season, being named Man of the Match in the Madrid side's Champions League final win over Aletico Madrid, the signing of Kroos and Rodriguez will most probably shun the former Benfica man to the bench, spelling the end of the Argentine's time at the Bernabeu.

The Liga BBVA giants are thus keen to be rid of the Albiceleste winger in order to generate €80m. If this materializes, it will be a record sale for Real Madrid, beating Mesut Ozil's €50m Arsenal switch last season.

Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are the club believed to be favorites to land Di Maria, with Manchester United also keen on the 26-year-old.

However, the only thing reportedly standing in the way of Les Parisiens' move for Di Maria is FFP (Financial Fair Play), as the mega-rich side have already parted with £50m to bring Brazilian defender David Luiz to Parc des Princes.

This means Laurent Blanc will have to sanction the sale of one of his players for a substantial fee in order to land the Real Madrid star, with Edinson Cavani to Manchester United tipped as the likely outcome.
