After a wonder start by Netherlands, the football community identified Robben as Holland's key player.

Today the Netherlands faced Chile to decide which team would progress as first. With both Australia and Spain out, Chilean and Dutch fans did not have to worry about qualifying, but were nonetheless anxious about the outcome.

The game was not memorable, with the first half providing few chances, with Chile attempting to kill off the game by retaining possession. Without Robin van Persie, Holland’s offensive maneuver was too slow and mechanic to worry the Chileans.

However, one Dutch player kept shining throughout this World Cup: Arjen Robben. The 30-year-old preoccupied his opponents with his pace and quick dribbling. The Dutch winger became a real threat during the second half, where he took advantage of a tired Chilean backline to pierce through with his inhuman velocity.

To confirm the Bayern Munich player’s extraordinary form, FIFA nominated Robben the man of the match. On top of running down Chile’s defense at every opportunity he had, the Dutch player provided a pinpoint assist for Depay’s comfortable sitter. Mind you, Robben ran past everybody after he had been playing for over 90 minutes: eternal.
