Something unusual happened to Draxler and Hoewedes as Germany's national football team prepares for what will be a difficult challenge at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Germany and Schalke 04 star midfielder Julian Draxler was involved in a car accident in a driving event in Northern Italy, where the national team is currently training, hitting two men with a vehicle.

The 20-year-old ace, who was a passanger in the vehicle, was accompanied by fellow Die Königsblauen team-mate Benedikt Hoewedes, but in separate cars, when this incident happened in a closed circuit near the team's hotel.

Fortunately for the two die Mannschaft players, who were both named in Germany's 30-man provisional 2014 World Cup squad, they did not pick up any injuries and resumed training with Joachim Low's men.
