AO Xanthi vs Ergotelis Heraklion Match Preview
Xanthi have earned the title of comeback kings after going from relegation favorites to potential European qualifiers. The team from Northern Greece have gone from basement dwellers in the early portions of the season to the heights of 5th place and looked a very convincing side judging by their 2-0 away win over Panionios last weekend.
Ergotelis are the team Xanthi face this weekend and Nikos Karageorgiou’s men are hoping to turn around their bad start to 2011. The Crete club finished 2010 in great form reeling off consecutive victories and climbing into the top half. Since then though they have been walloped by Asteras Tripolis and held to a 0-0 home draw by Olympiakos Volos. Though their Super League survival no longer appears to be in question, a win in Xanthi would almost ensure safety.
