Greece vs Israel Match Preview

Benayoun’s absence perhaps played a part in Israel’s defeat to Croatia last Friday, but whatever the excuses, Tuesday’s visitors just want to find back the rhythm which saw them kick off their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign on a high. The fact here is that they are 4th in Group F’s six-team section.

Of course, the table is yet to be decided with quite a few number of draws between contenders tightening things up. Croatia certainly have the right to confidently dream of Poland-Ukraine, but both Greece and Israel can’t seat back. Surprisingly, they are behind second-placed Georgia.

However, they stand an equal chance of moving above the middle zone, if Georgia drop points against Latvia in the night’s other Euro 2012 qualifying match.

Greece are actually unbeaten and it was only last weekend that they experienced their first victory in the campaign with a 1-0 victory over Latvia. Stretching their record with another victory will seriously dent Israel’s hopes of qualifying for the tournament.

Meanwhile, a draw will let it seem like a second-place finish in Group F will be the most realistic thing both Greece and Israel will have to eye.
