Colorado Rapids vs Philadelphia Union Match Report
Colorado defeated Philadelphia 4-1. Rapids striker Omar Cummings scored a brace to bring his side closer to playoff qualification. The Union are still in the race but the loss has hurt their chances.
Cummings put Colorado ahead in the 8th minute, after receiving a cross from new strike partner Mocoumba Kandji. Cummings volleyed his second past Union keeper Brad Knighton in the 15th minute. The Rapids continue their attack in the second half with a goal from Wells Thompson in the 68th minute, followed by Quincy Amarikwa’s first goal for the club in the 86th minute.
A poor clearance from Rapids keeper Matt Pickens led to the Union’s lone goal from Jack McInerney in 90th minute. Newcomer Kandji had a standout performance, and helped his team to their impressive fifth unbeaten home game.
