New England Revolution vs Seattle Sounders FC Match Preview
New England hope to respond from Wednesday night's 2-1 defeat to Monarcas Morelia in the SuperLiga final by getting past a Sounders side and snapping a four-match losing streak in all competitions. Seattle enter the contest on a 10-match run where they have only been defeated twice. The visitors are looking to sustain the momentum generated by a last-minute 2-1 home victory over Chicago last Saturday.
It won’t be easy for the home side Revolution as the Sounders have been hot. Back-t-back wins over Chivas USA and the Chicago Fire set up the stage nicely for manager Sigi Schmid and co. Regulars Patrick Ianni, Blaise Nkufo and Jeff Parke (only used as a substitute midweek) could all return for the date against the Revolution after missing out against Chivas.
The Revolutions form plus the continued loss of Sainey Nyassi should be enough for the Sounders to be victorious in their cross-country trip.
