Rock bottom D.C. United delivered a blow to the playoff hopes of Toronto FC with an upset road win.Toronto started brightly, and star midfielder Dwayne De Rosario surged forward to strike a firm shot against the post in the 6th minute. D.C. gained a foothold in the game, and the impressive Danny Allsopp forced a smart save from Stefan Frei in the 37th minute.
With the scores tied and 10 minutes remaining, Toronto defender Adrian Cann conceded a free kick with a clumsy foul on Allsopp. His team paid a high price when the ball was swung over and D.C. defender Julius James scored the winning goal against his old team.
