More About Brazilian Copa do Brasil

The Copa do Brasil is a big Brazilian football competition that gathers the top 64 football clubs from 26 Brazilian states, as well as from the Federal District. Apart from football clubs that are able to make the top ten clubs in CBF’s ranking, only the 54 best-placed clubs in the state championships are allowed to participate in the Copa do Brazil. It is probably the single largest national football cup tournament in the world. The Brazilian football clubs that participate in the Copa Libertadores no longer participate in the Copa do Brasil due to the demanding schedule requirements, which allows entry to lower level teams into the competition. The Copa do Brazil season normally commences in February and ends in late June or July.
