Manchester United are rumoured to have closed in on the signing of Javier Pastore from Palermo for a massive €40million
Sir Alex Ferguson did reveal that United will be ready to spend after missing out on a target in January. While many players have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, reports suggest that Javier Pastore could be the likeliest one to join that Devils Army.

The dynamic playmaker has been one of the most sought after talent in Europe after attracting interest from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid. Pastore was also linked with a move to Nou Camp after declaring his love for the Spanish Giants.

However, Argentine radio station Radio Sucesos reported last Thursday the Spanish giants have refused to meet Palermo's price tag.

With Paul Scholes likely to retire in the summer, Ferguson has earmarked the Argentinean playmaker as the perfect replacement for the ginger-haired midfield maestro.

Pastore has scored 10 goals already for Palermo this season and rumors are strong that his agent is in England to discuss a move with United.
