The French striker scored the game's lonely goal against Los Boquerones, keeping Atletico's title chances alive.

Atlético Madrid's chances of stripping Barcelona from the La Liga title are still alive, mainly because of two players: Jan Oblak and Antoine Griezmann.

While the shot-stopper kept his goal intact for yet another game, Griezmann's early goal kept the team's good form in the domestic competition, giving them cause for hope for the rest of the league.

Griezmann didn't want to wait longer to make the difference, and scored the fastest goal of his playing career at 39 seconds. His previous record was destroyed, as his fastest goal prior to today's shot came after 90 minutes in a game against Sporting in 2016, according to Mister Chip.

In fact, Atlético has earned 19 points this season thanks to Griezmann's goals.

"Atlético have earned points everytime Griezmann has found the back of the net during the course of this season"
