Bronze helped Olympique Lyonnais to its seventh UEFA Women’s Champions League title and its thirteenth Division 1 Feminine title from the right-back position. In return, she was crowned The Best FIFA Women’s Player of 2020 ahead of her ex-teammate at Lyon Wendie Renard and favorite to win the award Danish striker Pernille Harder. The Englishwoman dished out five assists across 21 games and was named the 2020 BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year.
After a successful 2020 season, Bronze was acquired by FA Women’s Super League side Manchester City.

Bronze was not the only women’s football character to receive an award on Thursday. Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi was crowned The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper and Dutch manager Sarina Wiegman was awarded for being The Best FIFA Women’s Coach.
Alongside Bronze, Bouhaddi helped Lyon to its seventh UEFA Women’s Champions League title and its 13th Division 1 Feminine title from goal. The 34-year-old also helped her nation of France to win the Tournoi de France.
And #TheBest FIFA Women's Goalkeeper 2020 is... Sarah Bouhaddi!

Wiegman is the first person to win the The Best FIFA Women’s Coach Award for a second time. The Netherlands coach won the award back in 2017. She receives the award after leading the OranjeLeeuwinnen to an unbeaten run (ten wins in ten matches) in the UEFA Women’s EURO qualifiers.
