It may have a surreal feeling, but what happened this Sunday in Vancouver, Canada was actually real and now the United States Women's National Team won its third World Cup title. When the final whistle blew, thousands of Americans, including the President Barack Obama, congratulated the team for their historic accomplishment.
Obama is ready to receive the team at the White House
What a win for Team USA! Great game @CarliLloyd! Your country is so proud of all of you. Come visit the White House with the World Cup soon.

Ever since
Carli Lloyd scored the fastest hat-trick in the history of a World Cup final. Even before the 15th minute of action, the USWNT was already leading 4-0 with three goals from Lloyd and one from Lauren Holiday. Not even coach Jill Ellis could believe what she was seeing.
Coach Ellis could not believe her own eyes

A total of five goals were scored in the first half, and another two dropped in the second half. One from each side, so before the hour, fans at B.C. Place Stadium had already witnessed seven goals, which is the most in World Cup history. The five goals scored by the Americans got them past Germany in a very special list.
The USWNT is now the leading scorer in the history of Women's Soccer
