The Red Devils are desperate to get one last deal over the line ahead of the closure of the transfer window.

Manchester United has reportedly turned its attention to signing San Lorenzo forward Adolfo Gaich in a desperate attempt to sign a striker before the closure of the transfer window today. The 20-year-old Argentine international emerged as a target for the Red Devils after they failed hit an impasse in their pursuit for Josh King.

In the past few hours, the Old Trafford outfit has attempted to convince Bournemouth into accepting its proposal for the Norwegian striker. According to multiple reports from England, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side was given hope of landing the forward but hit a snag in talks after the Cherries rejected their initial loan proposition while slapping a 50 million pound price tag on the player.

Concurrently, representatives from Manchester United were apparently working on a deal for former Watford star Odion Ighalo. However, while the Premier League outfits are yet to reach an agreement with Shangai Shenhua, there are fears that the move could fall through or could delay as the Nigeria striker will be unable to travel to the U.K due to the outbreak of coronavirus in China. As a result, the 20-time English champions have now turned their focus to Adolfo Gaich of San Lorenzo.

Per Fox Sport Argentina, the Reds are keen on recruiting the forward and the UK's Express has also suggested that club chairman Ed Woodward has contacted the Argentine club about the prospect of signing the player. So far, the 20-year-old attacker has scored four goals in nine appearances this season with all his four goals coming in his last four outings.
