The English club wants to bid farewell to the winger as soon as possible, but other teams have ended their pursuit for the footballer due to his massive wage.

Manchester United made arguably one of the worst signings in their laureated history when they decided to add Alexis Sánchez to their squad back in 2018. Now, the Red Devils are plotting a desperate move to see the Chilean leave the club as soon as possible.

The South American footballer has only been able to score five goals in 45 apps since he moved to Old Trafford, and the player knows that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not want him around. The main problem for both player and coach is that there has been a shortage of offers to lure the player away from the Premier League giants.

With that in mind, according to the Daily Mail, Manchester United is willing to pay a massive chunk of the player's weekly wage if there is a team brave enough to add him to their squad. Sánchez collects over $600,000 weekly with the Red Devils, and the club would be willing to pay half of that amount -or more- if any team in Europe is ready to have him on loan.

So far, Sánchez has only been linked with a move to Roma, but both his agent and the player himself are not interested in such a move. Unfortunately for the 2-time Copa América winner, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to be eager to offload him ASAP, judging by his latest reply on possible exits from the club before September 2.

There might be (transfers), yes. The thing is it's not about who we don't want here, it's about who we want here and you're going to see that in the team selections and who's going to be with us in the long run," Solskjaer stated recently. Sánchez was left out of the 18-men squad that defeated Chelsea on Sunday.

With barely two more weeks left in the summer transfer window, both the club and the player will have to make a decision on their future together. Will Sánchez live out the rest of his contract, or will Manchester United cut their losses and end their relationship with the South American footballer? The end of the transfer window might have an answer for us.
