Newcastle United, having finally recorded a win in midweek, takes on a Chelsea side which is coming off a shocking draw against Reading.

Team News

The injury list for Newcastle United is an extremely long one. Hatem Ben Arfa, Danny Simpson, Haris Vuckic, Ryan Taylor and Dan Gosling are all out of this one for them. Sylvain Marveaux is doubtful for this one. Cheik Tiote is currently unavailable as he is away on international duty.

Oriol Romeu is out for Chelsea until June. Eden Hazard continues to be suspended. David Luiz and Petr Cech are both doubtful. Juan Mata is also doubtful after injuring his knee against Reading. John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses are both away on international duty currently.

Analysis

Chelsea was beating Reading, 2-0, and looked to be heading towards a victory. They conceded two quick goals towards the end of the match to give away points in needless manner. This is not the first time this season that Chelsea has given away points easily. The match against Southampton, for example, comes to mind.

Newcastle meanwhile was going through a horrible spell till they ran into floundering Aston Villa. Villa pressurized them a lot as the match neared to an end but Newcastle held on. Considering that Newcastle will come into this match on a high, this could turn into a very interesting battle.
