To make things worse, the Portuguese giants lost the home leg, going 2-0 down in the 1st leg at the iconic Estádio da Luz. The second leg ended in a 3-3 draw, meaning Benfica crashed on courtesy of a 5-3 aggregate defeat, leaving their fans with a thirst for vengeance.
