Bored by the bombarding of questions related to City’s Champions League campaign, Roberto Mancini sent first-team coach David Platt to attend the press conference ahead of last weekend’s league fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.
In the aftermath of the encounter, which saw the Citizens take all three points, Mancini was still nowhere to be found in the press conference room. The Italian manager left David Platt in charge of speaking to the media.
Eventually, pundits questioned Roberto Mancini’s decision to shy away from cameras and microphones. However, the coach hit them back with another question as he finally made a press conference appearance ahead of his team’s Premier League encounter against Aston Villa on Saturday.
“Do you want David or me?” he asked to which one may answer: “I want the mask!”
