The Uruguayan icon completed a three-goal haul inside the first-half of his first-ever game for his new Brazilian club.

Age truly is just a number!

After 16 stellar seasons in Europe and a short spell with former club Nacional, iconic striker Luis Suarez has just kicked off his career with Brazilian side Gremio. The soon-to-be 36-year-old made his debut for his new club on Tuesday in their showdown against Sao Luiz in the Recopa Gaucha Super Cup and enjoyed a tremendous first cameo for the club.

The Uruguayan legend tormented the opposition in this fixture and found the back of the net not once, not twice, but three times! In fact, the former Barcelona superstar bagged a hat-trick in only 38 minutes in his debut game.

Additionally, his three-goal haul, which included an exquisite lob over the keeper in the 5th minute and a lovely volley shortly before half-time, helped his side triumph 4-1, thus winning the title.

Suarez, who joined Rei de Copas for free on a two-year deal, was eventually subbed off in the second half and received a brilliant reaction at the Arena Gremio. Check out his goals in the video below.

Speaking after the game, Suarez admitted that this could be his best debut game in his career. He has scored before in his first match for a new club, pulling this off at Atletico Madrid with a two-goal haul. Additionally, Luis has also scored a first-half hat-trick before as well, achieving this against Norwich during his days at Liverpool. However, never before has he scored three times in the first half of a debut.

Gremio are currently in the Brasileiro after securing promotion to Brazil's top-flight league late last year. However, the upcoming campaign does not get underway until April, meaning Suarez's Man of the Match display might be a taste of what is yet to come.
