One of the best players of the FIFA World Cup was, without a doubt, Kylian Mbappé. The 19-year-old star has been widely praised by his antics on and off the pitch, and some of the game's legends are starting to consider him as the potential heir to the throne held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best players in the world.
Mbappé's performance during this competition caught the eye of the world, especially since he matched some records established by none other than the king of football: Pelé. The French star became the first teenager since the Brazilian legend to score a brace in a FIFA World Cup game, while also managing to score in the tournament's final, just like Brazil's "O'Rei".
With that in mind, the legendary footballer decided to praise Mbappé with a couple of tweets, including a reply to one post by the French footballer himself.
Only the second teenager to have scored a goal in a #WorldCupFinal! Welcome to the club, @KMbappe - it's great to have some company! // O segundo adolescente a marcar um gol em uma final de #CopaDoMundo! Bem-vindo ao clube, Kylian - é ótimo ter a sua companhia! https://t.co/g8b2gLTy7B

If Kylian keeps equalling my records like this I may have to dust my boots off again... // Se o @KMbappe continuar a igualar os meus records assim, eu vou ter que tirar a poeira das minhas chuteiras novamente...#WorldCupFinal https://t.co/GYWfMxPn7p

Only time will tell if Kylian Mbappé can become as legendary as Pelé did, but for the time being, the Brazilian icon will surely keep a close eye on what the rising French star does on the pitch.
