Winning the World Cup could be a once in a lifetime experience, and Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic went ahead to reveal one of his options to celebrate such an accomplishment.
Speaking in a press conference held earlier today, the Barcelona midfielder admitted that one alternative he's considered to celebrate a possible title would be add one more tattoo to his collection. Nevertheless, he would ask for a special permission and advice from his wife to do so.
"Well, I have a number of options left on my skin. I will ask my wife if she's OK with it and we'll decide. The only place I wouldn't touch is my face. I don't like face tattoos, and I surely wouldn't have that," Rakitic stated.
The Croatian midfielder added that he would be willing to trade all of his previous accomplishments if that guarantees a World Cup win for the Vatreni side.
"I'd swap all I've accomplished to win. In fact, I'd retire right now if that helped us win the title on Sunday. What you do individually doesn't count now. What matters is what the team needs. If the coach needs me to play at right back, I'll do it. If he needs me on the bench beside him, so be it," Rakitic added.
Before the press conference ended, Rakitic denied having any hard feelings about the 1998 semi-final, in which France defeated Croatia en route to their only World Cup title.
"I don't think there are any remaining active players from any of those teams, so, this can't be considered a rematch. What's done is done. Back then, they won, and that's good for them, but now we want to take the trophy home," the midfielder concluded.
