Arsene Wenger cares about the English National Team's fate, but he doesn't seem to be ready to take the Three Lions' coaching job.
In an interview with beIN Sports, Wenger played down the rumors linking him to the coveted coaching job, since he considers that the English team should be coached by a home grown coach.
"It's very important to have an Englishman coaching. "I've always said that England has a huge football passion and if tomorrow you have a game with France, then it would be difficult for me not to sing the national anthem," Wenger stated.
Although some FA officers had stated that Wenger would be a perfect fit for the role, Le Prof denied entering negotiations to coach the team managed by Gareth Southgate on an interim basis.
"There has been no contact. There is nothing really to add. Personally I want England to do well," Wenger added.
England will play their second and third matches of the World Cup Qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia during the current international break.
