The Italian goalkeeper has never won a Champions League title. He knows the one-goal difference is not enough to relax.

If there is a time for Juventus to prove they are back among the best clubs in Europe it is right now according to their goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. The 37-year-old goalkeeper wants his team to make a statement by getting into the final four of the UEFA Champions League this Wednesday in their game against Monaco.

"If we were able to get through this round, it would confirm that Juve are growing and it would be an important sign in Europe to show that,

La Juve is coming into the second leg of this game with a 1-0 advantage given by a goal from Arturo Vidal via a penalty kick. That might not be enough, but it's still an advantage Buffon knows they can work with the next 90 minutes.

"We've got a small advantage, given we won 1-0, but we're going to have to score again to go through," Buffon said.

They don't expect Monaco to have given up by now. The French side is considered as the underdog in this match. Players and staff from the Italian side knows that Monaco will try to take advantage of playing at home.

"We know Monaco a bit better now and we know what characteristics they've got. They're a very difficult side to face, and they defend very well and they're physically strong, as well as being technically good, too."

It is still uncertain if this is Buffon's last season with La Juve. At 37, there might be barely anything left in his tank. The veteran goalkeeper has participated in five World Cups with Italy and won one in 2006, but he has never won the Champions League title. It is something that he still has on his bucket list.

"I know full well that this is a crucial game both for me and for the club," Buffon claimed.

Juventus is currently leading the fight for the Scudetto in the Serie A, 15 points ahead of Lazio who is in second. With 73 points after 31 games it should just be a matter of time until they are crowned the 2014-2015 champions for a fourth time in a row.
