The recipients for these awards were revealed ahead of Sunday's final round of fixtures.

The 2023-24 Premier League season comes to a wrap this Sunday, but before that, the Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards had to be given.

The recipients of these two prizes were announced on Saturday morning, the day before the season finale, with Chelsea sensation Cole Palmer winning the Young Player of the Season gong to little surprise. The former Manchester City has been sensational since leaving the Etihad Stadium for Stamford Bridge, averaging a goal contribution per game this campaign.

The Englishman has scored a whopping 22 goals this term while assisting another 10, thus taking his goal contributions to 32 in 32 top-flight appearances. Palmer, who beat out competition from Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, has been the main man for the London giants and while the Blues have struggled for most of the season, Pochettino's side could qualify for UEFA Europa League football on the final day.

If sixth-placed Chelsea beat Bournemouth this Sunday and Tottenham lose to Sheffield, then Palmer and Co. will leapfrog Spurs and claim the fifth spot. Pochettino's men simply need to avoid defeat to secure a sixth-placed finish and that could be enough to make the Europa League so long as Manchester United do not win the FA Cup final.

As for the 2023-24 Premier League Player of the Season, that award went to Manchester City ace Phil Foden after an impressive campaign from the Englishman, scoring 17 times and racking up eight assists.

The academy graduate stepped up in the absence of Kevin de Bruyne, who was injured for the first half of the season, and has the Cityzens on the brink of winning a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title. The 23-year-old also scored two hat-tricks this season, one against Aston Vila and other against Brentford.

The Man City attacker beat out competition from Palmer, who was nominated for both awards, as well as Arsenal duo Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, Newcastle ace Alexander Isak, teammate Erling Haaland, and Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.

Foden should be in action on the final day when the Cityzens host West Ham. Guardiola's men sit two points clear of Arsenal but have an inferior goal difference. This means that while a win would secure them a title, a draw or defeat could see their rivals lift the trophy for the first time since 2004.
