The former Flamengo striker traveled to Portugal on Wednesday to agree to terms with the Portuguese Champions.

After a few weeks of speculation regarding Liedson's future, the Brazilian born striker has finally put pen to paper with the Portuguese side.

It was unknown if the 35 year-old would be transferred to Porto but after negotiations between both clubs, they both decided on a six month loan deal with Porto having an option for another year.

Liedson returns to Portugal after enjoying a number of years at Sporting. He now will put on the blue and white of Porto, something he says has been a dream of his for quite some time.

"It was an opportunity that just came up. To be honest, it has been a goal of mine for quite some time, but it only became possible today," said Liedson in his latest press conference.

"I am happy that Porto believed in me and gave me this new opportunity. I hope to return their confidence in me with positive results on the pitch."

The Portuguese International wore the number 31 jersey for years but he will now wear number 19 for the Dragoes.

At the age of 35, Liedson's experience and knowledge of the Portuguese League can and should be an advantage for Porto. Having scored so many important goals for Sporting along the years, Vitor Pereira will be looking for a similar contribution from his new number 19 at his new club.

During his time with Sporting, Liedson contributed 158 goals in 283 games for the Lisbon side.

Porto now has a second option to take some pressure off of Jackson Martinez who is their only serious option at the moment.

With an incredible amount of talent around him, Liedson should be able to leave his mark on yet another top Portuguese club.

Will Liedson be able to have a significant impact during his time with Porto?
