The German side seemed to be toying around with Barcelona's defense, even missing chances to open up the scoring due to their bad decisions in the final pass (or shot). All that would change with Thomas Müller's shot from outside the box that gave Die Roten the lead.

Müller found the back of the net as his shot was deflected by Eric García, who accidentally deviated the ball out of Marc-André Ter Stegen's reach, and that goal by the German ace cemented his place as the most prolific striker Los Blaugranas have faced in the continental competition.

Looking back at that famous 8-2 loss, this was Bayern's fourth goal in a row against Los Culés. Luis Suárez had scored Barcelona's second goal of the evening before Bayern deployed their full force and scored three more goals for their cause.
