Who qualified for the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League?

Villarreal and Real Sociedad made it automatically to the 2017-18 Europa League group stages thanks to their fifth and sixth place finish in the 2016/17 La Liga season. Athletic Bilbao could join these teams later in the summer, as the Basque side will participate in the playoff rounds of the competition.

What were the biggest summer transfers?
Alvaro Morata became the most expensive transfer of all time for a Spanish player when Real Madrid agreed on a £80M transfer fee to ship the player to Chelsea. Los Blancos also parted ways with James Rodriguez, but the Colombian could still return to the team, as a buyback clause was included in his loan deal with Bayern Munich. There's a hue of expectation involving the Spanish capital giants and Barcelona, as they are yet to land a marquee signing this summer.

What were the biggest managerial changes before the start of the season?

The most notable managerial change was announced months before La Liga concluded, as Luis Enrique decided not to renew his contract with Barcelona after three successful years. Former Athletic Bilbao manager Ernesto Valverde will become Los Blaugranas' new boss. Other notable managerial changes involve Jorge Sampaoli, who left Sevilla after one season to fulfill his dream of coaching Argentina's National Team
