Having grabbed the last UEFA Europa League qualifying spot in the Russian Premier League last year, CSKA Moscow are once again experiencing European football. Last season, they had a remarkable run in the UEFA Champions League, but they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by eventual winners Inter Milan.

On Thursday night, the Russians will be up against Anorthosis Famagusta FC from Cyprus in the first leg of the play-off. They are poised to go through to the next stage of the competition as they aim to emulate their 2005 UEFA Cup triumph.

Feyenoord vs GentFeyenoord Coach Mario Been

You would expect Feyenoord to record a good result against K.A.A Gent on Thursday when they play them at the Stadion Feijenoord in Rotterdam. The fact is that the Dutch club are confident by themselves based on the issue of familiarity and locality of the venue. Coach Mario Been explained earlier in August:

“Gent is pretty close [from Feyenoord]. If you look at the five teams that we could have drawn, Gent is the team against which we can learn about more easily.”

Coach Mario Been continued:

“[Playing in the Europa League] is important not in terms of financial issues, but also because of the development of young players.”

Feyenoord will travel to Belgium to play Gent in the second leg of the play-off on Thursday, August 26.
